You can take the ACTV vaporetto from Chioggia/Sottomarina and cross the lagoon via Pellestrina and the Lido of Venice until you reach St. Mark's Square. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes, but it is an evocative experience among the islands of the lagoon.
